About the courses:
July 16 – 17 14.00 Course of drawing Haapsalu old town, tutor Matti Pärk
The content of the two days course is drawing the old town of Haapsalu. The participants learn to mediate the milieu of the old town: the streets, gardens, backyards, etc. with few materials. The fusain, 2-3 colors and pencil will be used for drawing.
The course also evolves the intuition of vista and ability to picture three dimensions on the picture.
Cost of the course: 400 EEK.
July 18 – 19 12.00 Course of graphic art, intaglio and relief printing, tutor Kaisa Puustak
The aim of the course is to get acquainted with producing graphic sheets by using several classical techniques.
On the first day the small-format printing plates will be prepared (engraved and/or painted). Techniques: dry-point and carborundum. The printing plates for dry-point printing are ready for use already on the same day. On the second day the main activity is printing with oil-based colors. In addition it is possible to print flat-surface ready-made figures, use the effects of Chinese collage, etc.
In the end of the course every participant will have self-made graphics sheets of paper, acquired principles in intaglio and high printing and experiences of being an artist behind a printing baler.
The participants may bring desuete CD-s, chips, thin Plexiglas and pieces of offset plate. If possible then also own dry-point and intaglio paper. A small writing case is needed afterwards for the proofs, which will be taken along. Recommendable is an apron or gown to protect the clothes and tallow hand cream. Other equipment for work is available on-site.

July 20 12.00 Nude drawing, croquis, tutors Kaisa Puustak and Evald Okas
The aim of the course is to develop intuitive mien of depicting- quick visual decisions, spontaneous acting on paper. In this course t is not so important to depict a figure realistically but naturally and lively. With quick sketches hand and spirit will be drawn open. The course takes place on the second floor of the museum surrounded by Evald Okas famous nude paintings. A professional model is going to pose for the participants.
The works will be analyzed and evaluated by maestro Evald Okas. The participants need to take along different drawing tools.
The cost of the course: 200 EEK.
July 21 – 22 12.00 Acrylic painting, tutor Tiit Pääsuke
The course contains two tuitions. One of them is meant for the beginners and its` content acquires knowledge in acrylic or oil-painting techniques and easier tasks in painting from nature. Another tuition is for the advanced level and its` aim is developing creativity. During this day a creative task will be set up and it has to be solved with using the means of painting art. For this at least two basis of paintings are needed.
